PURPOSE:To enable the repetitive use of an ultrasonic vibrator transducer. CONSTITUTION:A probe assembly 25 is covered with a catheter tube 26 to prevent the contact of the ultrasonic vibrator transducer 21 and a living body, by which the probe, assembly is inserted into the celom or blood vessel without injuring an organism tissue and radial scanning is executed. Such catheter-shaped ultrasonic probe 20 is installed with a bearing 31 at its front end 23 provided with the ultrasonic vibrator transducer 21. The bearing 31 is installed in the state that the bearing is not fixed to the front end 23. The front end 23 comes into contact only with the bearing 31 and rotates while sliding within the bearing when a probe assembly 25 rotates and, therefore, the contact of the front end 23 and the catheter tube 26 is prevented and the failure of the catheter tube 26 is prevented. The clatter arising from the rotation of the front end 23 is prevented by the bearing 31. |
