<p>PURPOSE: To provide a lightweight and anti-corrosive crack arrester capable of preventing cracks initiated in a pipe from spreading propagatively. CONSTITUTION: This crack arrester 10 has non-metal fibers 16 which is noncorrosive, light-weight, and having a high tensile strength such as glass fiber is covered with a resin 27 such as epoxy, asphalt enamel, coal tar enamel, etc., and encapsulated in a resin matrix, to form a band-shaped material which surrounds and restrains a pipe 12, and a crack.</p> |
