PURPOSE:To provide a gas diffusion electrode capable of allowing a large quantity of an electrolytic solution or a gas to flow even when the distance of the electrodes is narrow to accelerate the reaction at the time of being used for electrolysis, fuel cell, electroplating or the like and having excellent electroconductive function and current collection function to improve energy efficiency. CONSTITUTION:The gas diffusion electrode 3 is formed by joining a water permeable electroconductive coarse porous body 2, in which a gas movable fine water repellent part is partially formed, to a reaction layer 1, in which a liquid permeable fine hydrophilic part and a gas movable fine water repellent part coexist mixedly and in contact with each other. |
