PURPOSE:To provide a resin which comprises a polysulfide-modified epoxy resin of a specific structure and an organic solvent and gives a resin composition for carbon fiber prepregs having excellent flexibility, alkali resistance, adhesion to carbon fibers and concrete. CONSTITUTION:The resin composition comprises (A) a polysulfide-modified epoxy resin of the formula (R1, R3 are organic groups containing bisphenol skeleton; R2 is an organic group bearing S atom and (B) an organic solvent (preferably methyl ethyl ketone or xylene), preferably at a weight ratio of 100:30 to 300 A/B. Component A is obtained, for example, by reaction of a bisphenol-A type epoxy resin and a compound bearing a polysulfide skeleton in the presence of a catalyst such as a tertiary amine. The average content of the polysulfide skeleton in component (A) is preferably 2 to 30. |
