PURPOSE:To enhance the contrast, to easily distinguish by eyes, to form and erase images only by controlling of the thermal energy, to make the coloring density high and the erasing characteristic good and to allow repeated formation and erasure of images. CONSTITUTION:The reversible heat-sensitive recording material contains a leuco dye and a substance which develops or loses color in reaction with the leuco dye within an organic polymer binder. The substance which develops and loses color in reaction with the leuco dye is a charge-transfer complex composed of phenol carboxylic acid, one of 4-23C alkoxypropylamines and one of 8-18C alkylamines. Moreover, owing to the reversible heat-sensitive recording material, images are formed through the heat-sensitive color development by instantaneous addition of heat, while the color is deleted by heating for a longer time than at the time of the heat-sensitive color development. |
