985,766. Controlling fluid flow. SPERRY RAND CORPORATION. July 19, 1963 [Aug. 1, 1962], No. 28600/63. Heading G3H. [Also in Division G4] A fluid AND-gate has two input nozzles 18,19, or a greater number arranged radially, directed towards ducts 11,10 which lead to an outlet 13. An output pressure is developed at 13 if each or all of the input nozzles receives a signal, but absence of a signal at one nozzle allows spillage of fluid around it to prevent any substantial build up of pressure in the outlet. The passages for fluid, which may be air or other fluid, may be formed by scoring, etching or engraving a sheet of plastic material, glass, metal &c. and covering with a second sheet.
|
