Use of at least one ecdysteroid (I), or its derivs. or plant or animal extracts contg. them, to produce a cosmetic or dermatological compsn. for treating skin disorders associated with abnormal differentiation of keratinocytes is new. The compsn. restores, preserves and/or improves the protective function of the skin (partic. by improving or reinforcing the corneal layer and improving function of the water barrier), improves cohesion of epidermal cells and/or the equality of the hair. Also new are use of (I) to produce culture medium, partic. for cells and tissues, esp. bulk culture of keratinocytes; and culture media and compsns. contg. (I). |
