Magnetic particles are coated with layers of different materials by a process based on use of micro-emulsions, in which: (a) magnetic material is obtained in the form of a micro-emulsion; (b) the particles are coated by a 2nd reaction carried out in the same micro-emulsion; and (c) the particles are sepd. from the medium and redispersed in other liq./surfactant mixts.
