The method of marking the optical waveguides involves drawing the optical waveguide through a dye channel. The dye is supplied to the dye channel from a pressurised supply container (VB). The pressure is controlled dependent on the transport speed of the optical waveguide through the dye channel. In one embodiment, the value of the pressure is upto 2 bar. Several dye channels may be arranged in a dye head (FK), which may be heated. USE/ADVANTAGE - For application of ultraviolet covering for identification of fibres in cable.
