The burner has a mixing tube, while the gas nozzle is interchangeable to give a cross-section to suit the type of gas used. The gas jet has an ejector action drawing the primary air into the mixing tube. A throttle on the gas nozzle (2) in the air inlet (5) adjusts the ejector effect to suit the gas pressure determined by the nozzle cross-section, and can be formed by a sleeve (6) sliding onto the nozzle, and with a collar (7) masking the tube inlet to a varying degree, and whose outer edge can be beaded over in the axial direction of the tube. The sleeve can protrude for a variable amount beyond the nozzle, and it can be cylindrical, or alternatively widen in a cone towards the tube.
