Checking device for detecting cutlery in restaurant kitchen waste disposal - using magnetic field and cooperating sensor providing signal upon detection of metal item

The cutlery checking device uses a sensor (17) beneath the work surface (10) for the handled plates, using a magnetic field to provide a signal when a metal item is detected, used to activate a control or a display. The number of detected cutlery items can be counted, to provide a check for the efficiency of the kitchen staff. Pref. the sensor is coupled to an evaluation circuit detecting the magnetic field variations to index an incremental counter (21) and activate an acoustic and/or optical warning device (19,20). ADVANTAGE - Allows retrieval of cutlery accidently thrown in waste disposal.
