The microscope stand foot is designed to accept a lighting device with optical components and an aperture and lamp field stop. They are fitted in a cylindrical tube held by a support which can be secured in the stand foot as a prefabricated unit. The mounting of the lighting device is thus simplified. When the support is secured in the stand foot, the tube is held in tension against mating surface, obviating the need to adjust the tube and hence the optical components. |
