The current collector has at least one current-carrying arm whose contact strip slides along the travelling wire of an upper conductor with a contact force. There is at least one additional arm through which an oscillation condition is controlled. It counteracts the waves excited mechanically in the current-carrying arm so as to give minimum travelling wire lift at the point of contact. The additional arms may all be arranged either in front of or behind the current-carrying arms, as seen in the direction of travel, or even distributed on either side. A pair of current-carrying arms may have an additional arm between them. ADVANTAGE - Allows higher travelling speed without increasing wire lift at point of electrical contact.
