Electronic retouching system for colour images in colour reproduction - provides colour intensity correction of selected points of stored colour image simulating effect of real retouching brush

The retouching system uses a correction field containing at least one point element, displaced relative to the area of the image to be retouched via a marking device, with the corresponding coordinates being recorded. The digitalised colour values for the scanned original held in a memory are corrected via correction intensity values, at the recorded coordinate points, in dependence on the entered retouching effect, under visual control. The required colour retouching correction intensity distribution for the marking device correction field is stored prior to retouching, for determining the correction of each image point during retouching, with a max. or min. correction intensity selection allowing the effect of a real retouching brush to be simulated.
