The engine has a housing enclosing a belt drive. The inside of the housing (1) has a Helmholtz resonator (4) at one point. The housing consists of a deep-drawn synthetic foil. The resonator consists of a similar deep-drawn synthetic foil material, which is fastened to the housing. The resonator has at least two part resonators (5,6) of different depths. USE/ADVANTAGE - To drive auxiliary devices and/or cam shaft of a motor vehicle. Has air sound absorption, for reduction of operational noises of belt drive in larger frequency area.
