Method of obtaining carboxyl nitrile latexes consisting in polymerization of acrylonitrile and butadiene and/or other diene monomers and vinyl monomers and monomers of carboxyl group carriers in the presence of emulsifiers, inorganic salts, initiators, molecular weight regulators, characterized in that after polymerization of monomers for the system is finished, preferably at pH 8.5-9, water solution of melamine-formaldehyde resin with pH 7.5-9, preferably etherificated with alcohol, is added and the process of cross linking of acrylonitrile copolymer through its carboxyl groups is conducted with the use of methylol groups of the resin, at a temperature of up to 343 K (70 degrees C), until the desired degree of their reaction is reached, and next the pH of latex is corrected preferably to 8.5-9.
