Method of obtaining a polyamino-amido-imide resin from an aromatic polyamine and dicarboxylic acid anhydride, characterized in that the reaction of the aromatic polyamine with the phthalic anhydride is conducted in a melt, with the phthalic anhydride introduced into the melted amine periodically or constantly, and with the temperature maintained at a level between 368 and 403 K, whereas the weight ratio of the aromatic amine to the phthalic anhydride ranges from 1:1 to 3:1, and phenylenediamine, diaminodiphenylmethane, mixtures of isomers of the said polyamines or mixtures of isomers with higher polyaryloamines created from the said amines are used as the aromatic amines.
