Multiplex transmission device for data communications - counts number of control nodes which can exchange data with each other, and has control for extending data transfer period when number increases

The system transfers data between a number of control nodes (N1..N4) coupled to a multiplex transmission path. A counter counts the control nodes which are coupled together for data transmission. A period controller allows the data transmission period in each control node to be extended when the number of control nodes increases. Pref. characteristic data received from another control node for each transmission is counted as the number of control nodes. USE/ADVANTAGE - Eg for data communication in motor vehicle. Shortens system start time.
