摘要 |
In a nuclear reactor, part of the coolant (29,30) fed at the entry end (27) passes along at least part of the length of the fuel rods separately from the interior of the reactor core (23). At least one opening (33,41) is along the coolant path (31,39) at a gap from the entry end in the reactor core, as an outflow for the coolant within the reactor core. Also claimed is an operating action where the coolant flow conditions are set along the fuel rods to give a generally even moderation of the neutrons along the whole fuel rod length. USE/ADVANTAGE - The system is for a nuclear reactor, esp. a light water reactor, for even power distribution. By setting the thermohydraulic and neutron moderation conditions along the fuel rods, power peaks along the fuel rods are minimised to give an even and consistent power distribution along the length of the fuel rods in the reactor cores.
