To evaluate the quality of yarns, to classify and count the yarn faults and set the limits of the yarn cleaning system, the adjustment parameters have a reference length (x) and sensitivity (y) in relation to the number (z) of corresp. cleaning operations. This provides a cleaning profile (RP) giving the functional correlation between the amt. of all theoretical possible combinations of adjustment parameters and cleaning operations. From the adjustment parameters it is possible to determine the number of cleanin9 operations which can be exct.- '--
