LAYERED AUTOMOTIVE CATALYST WITH IMPROVED PERFORMANCE

摘要

An improved three-way catalyst for treating the exhaust from internal combustion engines comprising a layered composite in which noble metals from Group VIII are dispersed on a first support and an oxygen storage component is disposed in an overlayer. Addition of a minor amount up to about 5 % of the oxygen storage component to the first support significantly improves the catalyst performance while not significantly increasing the release of hydrogen sulfide.
