A conducting rocker (1) located swivelable at a swivel axis (4) contacts the recording carrier (2) at a point (3) with a set force (RP). A spring combination with a deflection spring element (5) applies a deflection moment on the rocker, and with a spring element (6) applies a compensation moment at the swivel axis. The working line of the spring force (10) of the spring element (6), in the initial position of the rocker free end, runs in a dead position to the swivel axis (4) so that the recording carrier force (RP) is determined by the deflection moment of the spring element (5). With the swivelling of the rocker (1) in the working range, the working line of the spring force (10) of the compensation spring element (6) is swivelled from the dead point, so that the compensation spring element exerts the compensation moment on the rocker (1). ADVANTAGE - Risk of harm e.g. tearing of recording carrier is minimised, so that processing reliability and quality of printer or copier is improved.
