The two grippers (2,3) which clamp the weed are designed like plates and are aligned with their free lower edges pointing away from the holder and parallel to each other. Seen from the side the grippers are set at such an angle to each other that when the tool is closed they abut each other at right angles over the lower edges so that one gripper plate (2) can enter perpendicular behind the weed whilst the other gripper plate (3) can be set flat against the weed. To achieve the desired angle when the tool is closed the two gripper plates, or at least one, is bent downwards. The two grippers are preferably identical in design for simplified manufacture. USE/ADVANTAGE - For weeding between concrete slabs. The grippers can be interchanged for more even wear.
