Phase difference detector, esp. for PLL frequency synthesiser - generates follow-up signal for detected output signal to detect phase difference

The two-signal phase difference detector generates an output signal in accordance with the detected phase difference, especially for controlling the relative phase position of the two signals in a phase control circuit. The phase detector also generates a follow-up control of its output signal in accordance with the detected phase difference, with a continuous dependence between the level of the follow-up signal and the phase difference. Pref. the follow-up signal flanks are smoothed. USE/ADVANTAGE - For PLL frequency synthesiser. Detector output signal contains only slight interference components even prior to filtering.
