The vehicle, esp. a railway carriage, has ante-chambers at the ends reached via doors and steps, also doors for a side corridor leading to passenger compartments, toilets, etc. A lift for cripples is provided at one access door at least. The ante-chambers (3) are enlarged, and the corridor doors (4,5) allow the passage of wheelchairs. The end portion (7) of the corridor (6) is widened to form an end compartment (9) of reduced width and with widened sliding door (10). A toilet (13) accessible to cripples in wheelchairs is connected to this compartment and/or the space (12) between the doors (4,5). The compartment can be extended compared with the others, so as to accommodate at least one cripple in a wheelchair together with an attendant. USE/ADVANTAGE - Railway carriage comfortably accommodates cripples without separation from other passengers, esp. in a long-distance excursion train.
