<p>A cleaning head (50) for a floor cleaning appliance is provided with a plurality of interchangeable cartridges (60; 90; 90A; 90B) to enable different types of cleaning operation to be carried out. One type of cartridge (60) may include interchangeable liquid applicators (70, 80) for assembly therewith. In alternative arrangement different cartridges (90) are each provided with different types of liquid applicator. The cleaning head (50) preferably includes a suction chamber (520) and suctions slots (620) are formed in the cartridge at opposite sides of the liquid applicator so as to pick-up liquid delivered to the surface being cleaned by the applicator. Squeegee blades (650) may be provided outwardly of the suction slots (620).</p> |
