The invention relates to a nut-like element for fixing in an undercut cavity of a profile or similar workpiece with at least one extent which exceeds the width of the narrow groove cross-section, in particular a connecting device for joining a first workpiece, which exhibits the cavity, to another workpiece by means of a screw or similar member, the shank of which passes through an opening of the workpiece and, in the cavity, can be inserted into the nut-like element. The element (24) is configured approximately in the form of a cuboid and exhibits at least two mutually opposite flank walls, which are inclined at an angle, and a spring member (28) which is fixed, on one side, on one of the inclined flank walls and engages over the narrower surface (30) of the element with its free end; when the spring member (28) is relieved of stress, it is arranged at a distance (f) from the element. In a further embodiment, the spring member is configured in the form of a bow, is fixed on the end surface of the element (24) and runs, with a pressure section, over the surface (30) of the element and at a distance therefrom. <IMAGE> |
