The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a multilayered object by moulding, to the said multilayered object, as well as to an application of the method to the manufacture of dashboards and/or of vehicle covering elements. The object (6) exhibits an external face (5) bearing one or more deformations (8, 9) in the form of hollows and/or of bosses indented or raised to a greater or lesser extent. Such an object is obtained in a mould, by holding a sheet (3) of thermoplastic or textile material, constituting the external face (5), and by injecting thermoplastic resin (4) beneath the said sheet (3), and then by forming the object in a compression step. According to the invention, in the region of one or more predetermined zones whose locations depend on the desired deformations, a screen (12) is interposed between the said sheet (3) and said resin (4), whose predetermined permeability depends on the thermoplastic resin and on the said compression, and at least one incision is made, in this region, in the sheet (3) constituting the external face (5). <IMAGE>
