NEW DECAPEPTIDE AND POLYPEPTIDE CONSISTING OF RECURRENCE OF THE DECAPEPTIDE

PURPOSE:To chemically synthesize a new decapeptide or protected peptide having a structure similar to the recurring unit of an adhesive protein of Soletelina diphos and containing dopa in the sequence. CONSTITUTION:The decapeptide having an amino acid sequence of H-Ala-Lys-X- Ser-Dopa-X-X-Thr-Dopa-Lys-OH [X is asparagine or glycine; Dopa is beta-3,4-(dihydroxyphenyl)alanine], the decapeptide obtained by protecting a part or total of the functional groups of the above decapeptide with protecting groups, the polypeptide expressed by the formula H-(Ala-Lys-X-Ser--Dopa-X-X- Thr-Dopa-Lys-)n-OH (n is number of repetition) containing the above decapeptide repeated twice or more, and the polypeptide composed of two or more repetition of the decapeptide obtained by protecting a part or total of the functional groups of the decapeptide. These peptides are useful as an adhesive, etc.
