PURPOSE:To facilitate the solution of a jam. CONSTITUTION:A platen roller 2 which is rotated by a pulse motor 24 through a transmission mechanism 28 and a thermal head 16 are installed in an apparatus housing 1, to which a cover 29 is attached which can be opened and rotated. The thermal head 16, a pulse motor 24, and the driving gear 27 of a transmission mechanism 28 are installed inside the cover 29. When the cover 29 is closed, the thermal head is arranged 16 at the position facing the platen roller 2. The driving gear 27 is engaged with a driven gear 26 so that the pulse motor 24 and the platen roller are linked to each other through the transmission mechanism 28. When the cover 29 is opened, the thermal head 16 is separated from the position facing the platen roller 2 to open the transfer route of a recording sheet P2. At the same time, the driving gear 27 is disengaged from the driven gear 26, resulting in the dissolution of the linkage between the pulse motor 24 and the platen roller 2. |
