PURPOSE:To improve air permeability, water permeability, water-holding property, and fertilizer-holding property by mixing expanded PS particles, highly water absorbing fine resin particles, a crushed stone powder or sand, and an aq. adhesive emulsion or a binder and granulating the mixture. CONSTITUTION:10-15 pts.wt. expanded PS particles having apparent densities of 10-80ml/g and particle sizes of 0.2-10mm, 1-20 pts.wt. highly water-absorbing fine resin particles having particle sizes of 200mum or lower, 850-900 pts.wt. crushed stone powder or sand having a particle size of 2mm or lower, and an aq. adhesive emulsion or a binder having a viscosity of 20,000-50,000cP and a nonvolatile content of 40-42wt.% are mixed, granulated, and dried to give a soil conditioner having a specific gravity of 1.0 or higher. The conditioner is plowed and mixed into the surface layer of soil being improved in an amt. of the conditioner of 5-20vol.% based on the surface layer of 10cm-thick, thus giving soil having a void of 30vol.% or higher and a water-holding power of 50g/l or higher. |
