<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the clear monitoring picture of an object entering a monitoring area without generating any dead angle. CONSTITUTION:The monitoring device O is provided with a plurality of light emitting bodies 1-6 which are provided so as to project light spots in a discrete series upon a plurality of points in a prescribed monitoring area 7, a driving means 9 which successively and selectively drives the bodies 1-6 in accordance with given address signals, and a light receiving body 10 which receives reflected light from the area 7 and outputs electric signals in accordance with the intensity of the received light. A sampling means 12 which time sequentially generates sample data corresponding to each body 1-6 by processing the electric signals is connected to the body 10 and a discriminating means 13 which successively processes the sample data and outputs discriminating signals indicating the presence/absence of an object 17 at every light spot is connected to the means 12. On the other hand, a monitoring camera 15 having directivity is mounted on a rotary traveling body 14. A control means 16 controls the tracking of the camera 15 against the object 17 by directing the camera 15 toward the object 17 by actuating the body 14 in accordance with the discriminating signals.</p> |
