<p>PURPOSE:To maintain the oxygen concentration and air pressure in a container at a given value or above, by means of a container for storing articles provided with an oxygen detector and an auxiliary oxygen adsorber to keep the nitrogen-enriched air state. CONSTITUTION:The nitrogen-enriched air preparation device comprises the closed or semiclosed container 11, for storing articles blower 12, and main oxygen adsorber 13. The air in the container 11 is circulated through the adsorber 13 to remove oxygen, and the container 11 is maintained in a nitrogen-enriched air state. The auxiliary oxygen adsorber 14 is provided to prevent the container pressure from becoming negative as a result of oxygen removal from the air, and the oxygen-free air is fed into the container 11. For storing food for a long time, a nitrogen-enriched air with an oxygen content of 3-4% is preferred. Since food cells are killed below the concentration, the oxygen detector 15 is set to stop the operation of the blower 12 when the oxygen concentration becomes below the given value.</p> |
