发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF ALKALINE BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent drop of the rate of use of a positive and a negative electrodes and enhance the charge/discharge cyclic characteristics by assembling a battery through inserting of a plate group in a vessel, pouring alkaline electrolyte, and subjecting it to a decompression process. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode plate is formed of a hydrogen storage alloy electrode plate wound which for example contains chiefly misch metal Ni-based alloy while a positive electrode plate is formed out of a nickel electrode plate wound which chiefly contains nickel hydroxide, and they are laid one over the other and wound with a nylon separator interposed, and thus a plate group is fabricated. This is inserted in a cylindrical vessel formed by subjecting iron to nickel plating, and an alkaline electrolyte of KOH aqueous solution is poured in. The resultant is put in a vacuum processing vessel, and a vacuum pump is operated, and a decompression process is conducted until such a condition is generated that the splash of the electrolyte is visible at the peripheral surface of the plate group. Thereby the electrolyte can be distributed over the plate group quickly and uniformly, the rate of use of the positive and negative electrodes be enhanced, and the lifetime of the battery be prolonged.
