PURPOSE:To readily produce 1,1,1,2,3,3-hexafluoropropane useful as a hydraulic fluid, etc., and free from a problem about environmental pollution and an intermediate for synthesis thereof at low costs. CONSTITUTION:This method for production of 1,1,1,2,3,3hexafluoropropane is characterized by formation of tetrafluorochloropropene through dechlorofluorination (deClF) of 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoro-3,3-dichloropropane and/or 1,1,2,2,3pentafluoro-1,3-dichloropropane by hydrogen in the presence of a metal oxide catalyst and subsequent fluorination of the resultant olefin in the presence of a catalyst. |
