PURPOSE:To monitor the state that a forming optical device is set in a cavity of a press die arranged in a gas chamber from the outside to form it by automatically supplying the forming optical device to a robot means arranged in a gas chamber. CONSTITUTION:In a optical device forming method and device, a forming optical device is set in a cavity of a press die arranged in a gas chamber filled with a specified gas and the forming optical device and the press die are heated to a specified temperature, and a specified pressure is applied to the press die to form the forming optical device into an optical functional parts. To accurately set the forming optical device in the cavity of the press die 18 by a 1st robot means 15 arranged in the gas chamber 22, the 1st robot means 15 is controlled while being observed through the window part 21 of the gas chamber 21. To carry, the forming optical device 20 to a pickup position 27 where the device can be picked up by the 1st robot means 15, the forming optical device 20 is mounted on the means 15 by a 2nd robot means 26 arranged outside the gas chamber through an opening/closing window part 25 of the gas chamber 22. Then, after the opening/closing window part 25 is closed, heating and pressurizing are performed. |
