<p>PURPOSE:To detect an object in a remote monitoring area. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with an image forming optical system 1 which forms the image of a prescribed monitoring area and light receiving arrays 2 which are arranged on its image surface, have a plurality of divided light receiving units, and output detecting signals at every light receiving unit upon receiving the formed image in a divided state. The analog detecting signals from the arrays 2 are converted into corresponding digital sample data by means of an A/D converter 5. The device is also provided with a storing section 7 which has memory areas M1-Mn corresponding to the light receiving units S1-Sn and stores individual sample data. A discriminating section 9 successively reads out the sample data from the section 7 and discriminates an object in the monitoring area in accordance with the changes of the data.</p> |
