PURPOSE:To realize early detection of collision, by making structure, in which a fitting part, having a shape along the sensor-mounted surface of a side door beam, is provided on a side opposite to the pressure-receiving surface for the collision load of a vehicle, and in which a collision sensor is not bent but ruptured immediately on colliding. CONSTITUTION:A touch sensor 11, fitted to a side door beam 14, is nippedly pressed by an outer panel, deformed at the time of collision, and the side door beam 14 to output an ON signal. A fitting part 17, having the recessedly-bent surface of curvature same as the outer peripheral surface of the side door beam 14, is formed on the base plate 12 of the touch sensor 11 to be fitted so as to be integral with the side door beam 14 while surface-contacted over the overall length of it. Consequently the touch sensor 11 has no part not in contact with the side door beam 14, and is turned ON immediately to detect collision even if any position is compressed. Moreover since the touch sensor 11 is ruptured immediately without causing partial deformation, no detection delay, is caused. |
