Aq dispersions of organo-polysiloxanes (I) comprise (A) organopolysiloxane with condensable gps., (B) silane of formula R2Si(OR3)3, (C) silane of formula (R4)2Si()R5)2, (D) crosslinking catalyst, (E) emulsifier and (F) water. R2, R4 = 1-18C hydrocarbyl; R3, R5 = H or 1-6C alkyl. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in polishes etc. for hard surfaces (car bodywork etc.) and in release agents for organic polymers. The claims include (i) care materials for hard surfaces, pref. contg. 2-10 wt.% dispersion (I), (ii) a process for treating hard surfaces by applying such materials, and (iii) polymer release agents contg. (I). Polishes contg. (I) are stable for at least 1 year at room temp. and contain minimal amts. of organic solvent; they are easily applied and spread out by rubbing, to give a film with excellent resistance to weathering and washing. Release agents contg. (I) remain effective for many demoulding cycles, and prods. made in moulds treated with (I) have good painting and adhesive bonding properties.
