摘要 The machining wheel (1) and tool (16) are engaged with two simulated plane racks in the plane of rotation. The wheel rotates in synchronism with the tool about an axis inclined at an angle (sigma) to that of the tool. The convexity of the second rack or the teeth of the tool imparts curved edges to the rack in the plane section. The angle of rotation and distance from the axis are corrected by computerised control. ADVANTAGE - Precise shaping of edges is achieved without noisy vibration of teeth, and subsequent lapping of edges is rendered unnecessary.
