The dumb-bell shown for gymnastics and/or strength or condition training has a continuous bar (1) at each outer end of which there is a holding point which may be fitted with hand-grips and knurled and fitted with a pressure distribution roller at the centre which is clamped on both sides by a securing ring (7). It is possible to use the device with or without disc weights, e.g. the edge discs (12, 13) and with or without other dumb-bell discs, e.g. items (8, 9, 15, 16). The diameter of all the discs used may be larger or smaller than or the same as that of the roller (6). All the components, e.g. the roller (6), and all the edge discs (12, 13) and the weight discs (8, 9, 15, 16) are fitted to be able to rotate on the rod (1). The edge discs (12, 13) and the weight discs, e.g. (8, 9, 15, 16) may be made of various light materials, e.g. rubber, wood or plastics, or of heavy materials like iron, depending on the intended sports purpose. All the above variables are to be regarded as design-determined as they ensure the versatility of the dumb-bell. |
