The two tampers (7,7a) are positioned behind each other and consecutively treat the brushes (2). A buffer magazine (10) is positioned after the second and each further tamper (7a) and is connected by a control (12) to the tamper (7) in front of it. The buffer magazine(s) is/are in the form of a stacking magazine each of which has a meter (11) measuring the maximum or minimum capacity with a control connection for the tamper in front of it. At least one of the tampers has a reversible box of many different materials for bristles. Preferably a conveyor belt (9) conveys the brushes from one tamper to the other. ADVANTAGE - The machine operates faster and enables different tufts and/or bristles to be incorporated in one head.
