The invention relates to the provision of a soundtrack for slides, preferably using a plurality of slide projectors. Serving as the carrier for the sound signals is a digital data carrier (CD or DAT), on which both the data of the audio signals and the data of the controlling and/or synchronising signals are digitally stored, in order to obtain optimum sound quality.
