摘要 The torque produced by the engine is transmitted to the rear wheels permanently and to the front wheels optionally through a torque-distributing clutch hydraulically operated from a motorised pump with a reservoir, pressure limit switch and magnetic valve (54). The control torque is calculated (79) from the difference (77) in rotational speed (75,76) of the road wheels for a desired curve-negotiating characteristic of the vehicle, and increased when a need for four-wheel-drive is recognised (82). ADVANTAGE - Torque distribution is better controlled irrespective of road surface friction and ambient temp., avoiding unnecessary fuel consumption.
