The endlessly circulating balls spread out round the circumference of a guide rail are mounted in a support housing (1). To fix the housing on a connecting fitment each housing part (2,3) has at least one axially protruding screw-on flange (17, 18) which interacts with a corresponding screw-on flange (17, 18) on the other housing part (2,3). The flanges are preferably arranged on the housing in pairs so that the upper flange of one housing part adjoins the lower flange of the other part without any gaps. Each pair of flanges can have aligned bores (20). The housing parts can be injection moulded from plastics. USE/ADVANTAGE - Easier assembly of longitudinal ball bearing without extra aids.
