In a cable twister, an arm (8) is at each bobbin (6) to take off the wire (7) from the bobbin (6), and lead it into the twisting shaft (2). The wire take-off arms (8) are in pairs, diametrically opposed, keyed against rotation on the twisting shaft (2), each between two bobbins (6). The bobbins (6) are rotated by friction drive wheels (13) on an axially sliding bobbin shaft (12) with a rotary drive. Each bobbin (6) has an individual electro-motor drive. USE/ADVANTAGE - The assembly is for twisting wires together for electrical cables, without a reverse twisting action fed back along the wires. The system reduces the number of bobbins, with the same twisting capacity, in an assembly which requires less space.
