In order to make handling easier, to reduce the overall volume and to achieve at the same time a sufficient sealing effect and an improved operational safety, a screwable pipe joint has as essential characteristic formed parts (1, 2) arranged at the ends of the pipes to be joined and which are screwed to each other by means of a bushing (5). The adjacent front faces of the formed parts (1, 2) are characterised by an interlocking profile which secures the joint against rotation, so that one formed part has a profile (8) and the other formed part has a counter-profile complementary to the first. The screwable threaded sections (3, 4) of the formed part (1) and of the formed part (2) are designed as a left-handed or a right-handed thread, so that when they are joined to corresponding threaded sections (6, 7) of the bushing (5), an axial opposite displacement of the formed parts (1, 2) results from rotation of the bushing (5). The front faces of the formed parts (1, 2) are provided each with a ring-shaped recess, and said recesses complete each other in the mounted state, forming a recess (1) for receiving a flat packing ring (10). The flat packing ring (10) is thus positioned between two axially oriented sealing surfaces (12).
