The support system is for flat components in a building, the components being usable eg. in a roof or a floor. The flat components (13) are square or rectangular, and rest at their edges on main beams (1) and spacing beams (2) at right-angles to the main beams. There are dovetail joints (9) at the ends of the main beams and in their sides. There are wedges (4) which fit between the plates (13) and engage their chamfered edges to hold them down. USE/ADVANTAGE - Floor or roof components for building may be made of recycled plastics.
