In the cover section (10,12) the fixtures (18) are at least partly inserted. Each supporting stiffening section (6,8) is formed by a closed profile running around the edge area, and formed by a shape-rigid, elastic material. Each stiffening section consists of a light metal profile, partic. of aluminium alloy. Alternatively, it can comprise a plastic of high rigidity, pref. polypropylene. Each cover section (10,12) comprises several part sections, each of which contains a grip, locks or hinges (18), and is made of plastic. Each stiffening section with the corresp. cover section is connected via common fixtures with the edge area of the portmanteau shell. ADVANTAGE - It has an applied frame for stiffening the portmanteau shell, to the edge areas of which it is simply fixed.
