A machine for forming gobs of liquid glass has (i) a plunger to force liquid glass through an orifice in the machine floor; (ii) a crank (9) to operate the plunger; (iii) a servo motor drive unit (1); (iv) a rotating threaded shaft (7) connected to the servo motor drive shaft (2) and the crank (9) to translate shaft (2) rotation into crank movement in either direction. USE/ADVANTAGE - On machines for forming gobs of liquid glass. Inexpensive mechanism giving precise movement of the crank (9) over long periods.
